Sorry I have been gone for awhile. I was gone all weekend at a really once in a lifetime concert. Thinking of what to drink lately my wife and I came up with this one. This drink taste so great you will probably just drink it all really quick. Its simple to do and taste really well. My wife says "it helps in slimming" so you all will have to let me know what you think as well.
Ingredients:
2 ltrs of Water
1 Medium Cucumber (Peeled and Sliced)
1 Lemon (whole sliced)
10 Fresh mint leaves
Directions:
Simple really. Jug, Water, Slice your veg, add to water add mint leaves. Chill in fridge for a bit before you drink unless you like luk-warm drinks haha..no need to add sugar unless you really want to.
Enjoy :)

guess lemons are on the shopping list for this week. Money goes so much farther with the ingredients I'm buying, the nice thing is, the variety of cooking also is an "escape" from the world and the hum-drum of life where we're so focused on "fast and convenient" but neither enjoy the "fast" nor appreciate the "convenient" because it is all lost as we focus on the next task completely oblivious to where we are - a fun quote From "Kate & Leopold": Where I come from the meal is the result of reflection and study. Menus are prepared in advance, timed to perfection. It is said that without the culinary arts, the crudeness of reality would be unbearable.
Another fun one: Leopold: That thing is a damned hazard!
Kate: It's just a toaster!
Leopold: Well, insertion of bread into that so-called toaster produces no toast at all, merely warm bread! Inserting the bread twice produces charcoal. So, clearly, to make proper toast it requires one and a half insertions, which is something for which the apparatus doesn't begin to allow! One assumes that when the General of Electric built it, he might have tried using it. One assumes the General might take pride in his creations instead of just foisting them on an unsuspecting public.
Kate: You know something? Nobody gives a rat's ass that you have to push the toast down twice. You know why? Because everybody pushes their toast down twice!
Leopold: Not where I come from.
Kate: Oh, right. Where you come from, toast is the result of reflection and study!
Leopold: Ah yes, you mock me. But perhaps one day when you've awoken from a pleasant slumber to the scent of a warm brioche smothered in marmalade and fresh creamery butter, you'll understand that life is not solely composed of tasks, but tastes.
Kate: [mesmerized].....Say that again.....
Never thought I'd appreciate food the way I'm learning to. I've always been grateful especially once you pick up a refugee who is thinking you're going to shoot them and you give them a canteen of just water and you see how grateful a human being can be and feel a human spirit sigh to heaven - but now - maybe I'll learn to appreciate "tastes" and not "tasks" - lemonade on the way with cucumber??? Sounds good, I'll try it.
@Saturdays Warrior..Awesome quotes man haha. It is really awesome how all this is helping you and others you know. I really appreciate all the compliments and comments you leave. When starting this blog I never really knew the impact it would have on people. I'm really glad I did though now. I want to continue to put simple great recipes on here and help people understand that cooking can be fun, relaxing, simple and easy to do. It helps clear the mind and with the food you about to eat that will help you have a clear mind afterwards. Putting junk in your body only clogs it. Like I said before you don't need all those fancy diets and drinks. Just eat well and healthy and that works just the same and cost less.
